What is Hi-gee System?

Hi-gee system (super gravity rectification system, over gravity system), widely applied in API(active pharmaceutical ingredient) industries, pharmaceutical intermediates, fine chemicals, environmental protection and other industries.It’s an alternative to the traditional distillation tower, mainly used in organic solvent recovery and product separation & purification.

Widely used in methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, acetonitrile, tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, toluene and other organic solvents recovery and product separation & purification. It has been industrialized apply in chemical, pharmaceutical, environmental protection, biomedicine and other industries.

What makes HGD beds more efficient than traditional packing?

In traditional production, the recovery of organic solvents (such as methanol, ethanol, etc.) in most enterprises is carried out by using gas-liquid mass transfer equipment like plate towers or packed towers through distillation. Due to the weak gravitational field, slow liquid film flow and low mass transfer coefficient, this type of equipment is bulky, has low space utilization and production intensity, and requires a large investment in equipment.

Our essence is to use the distillation machine adjustable rotating centrifugal field instead of the conventional gravity field, greatly improve the relative velocity of gas liquid two phase, phase interface updates faster, improve production strength exponentially, greatly strengthened the gas-liquid mass transfer process. The energy consumption is comparable to that of a well-designed distillation column. The kinetic energy consumed by the motor’s rotation will be converted into heat energy, and the heat loss on the equipment’s surface is lower than that of the distillation column.

The same process conditions, compared with the traditional tower equipment, rotating mass transfer unit height of the distillation machine reduces the l ~ 2 orders of magnitude, the height of the tower can be down to the original l / 10, the diameter of the tower to the original l / 5. Therefore, the adoption of this technology can significantly reduce the volume of equipment, decrease its weight, lower equipment investment, reduce floor space, and facilitate start-up and shutdown.

Compared with distillation columns, supergravity columns start up faster and the materials are easier to balance. Generally, it only takes one hour from cold liquid to finished product extraction, while a distillation column requires at least eight hours or more.
